Abstract
Following diferent interviews and a visit to the the area of waste management, in the capital city of Guatemala, we focus on a social perspective of the topic, and also with a vision of project, the current situation of the site in process of recuperation and the new field of waste, focusing on the three tribes, labeled during the interviews: the garbage recolectors, the transporters and the buyers of the producto recycled. A concern is underlined in the analysis, related to sustainable developtment in the zone and the potential actions to be undertaken to transform the current recycling, and the relation between formal and informal economy.
